Now for an update on Focus.
On Monday we had are annual club potluck and mills park. I was a little worried about bringing Focus, just becasue of the Parvo (a very bad diesese for dogs, which is mostly caused by dogs eating other dogs stools) that has been going around this area. So I just walked him to and from the pavillion where we had our potluck, and not let him on the grass. The potluck was very good and Focus was great! We also got to meet Neeva, who is being raised by a first time raiser and his family. Neeva is a 4 month old FYL. She is a sweetie!

On Tuesday I took Focus to shcool with me. He was very well behaved and all my friends and teachers loved him. But I have not brought him back since because he has been having dierrah for the past few days. So we called are leader, Becky and she said to give him plain yogurt, chicken, and white rice. She also said her little guy, Amato has been having the same issue, so we are thinking it`s the city water that`s causing it?? So I have been giving Focus filtered water only. So I hope he`ll be over this soon! As for the rest of the week, it`ll be pretty boring! Just for all you people wondering, Focus weighed 26 pounds at 12 weeks and he is now about 28 pounds!

Update on Focus

Focus is growing up so fast, he turned 3 months on Monday! Last Saturday our club met at the train station to ride the steam train. Focus was great just sat there and was not bothered at all by all the noise. I was very impressed! After the train ride, Focus went home with my leaders because I had a family event and could not take Focus or DeSoto because some people were very allergic to dogs. Focus got to spend the weekend with them because Sunday my mom and I made the trip to San Rafael to drop DeSoto off, and than headed into San Francisco which was very fun, but I wish I had Focus, but it was a lit of walking and it would not have been good for him. Maybe when he is older!

Monday was just a meeting for puppies which was held at our leaders house. We basically just talked about issues we were having, talking about recall, and practiced "come," which Focus is very good at, for the most part. After the meeting I took Focus home with me. I got a great report from them, except the crazy barking in the kennel, which they said it`ll just take time for him to get over that. Tuesday I had an eye appointment and he tagged along and was great.

We kind of had a scare with Focus on Tuesday as well. He woke up and I put him on the tie down and he started making the puking noise, but he never did throw up. So we went along doing are normal thing and fed him breakfast around 7. Around 11:30 I was upstairs and he was in the room with me and he threw up his breakfast, and the weird thing was, is that is was really not digested at all. So I called my leader and she asked if he had swallowed anything, and I said no. So she just suggessed that I soak his food for an hour. So before we went to the eye doctor, I got his food ready. While at the eye doctor, every time he got up he arched his belly up really high, and acted like he was in pain. So we than called are leader and she said we should take him to the vet. We got to the vet and she checked him out and felt his entire stomach and said nothing was in there that she could feel, so she gave him a shot which is was like a tums, and to not feed him that night. So, we just think he had a bad stomach ache. I made rice for him this morning and fed that to him and rice and food mixed for lunch. He seems all back to normal now which I am happy about!

These last two pictures I found and thought they were just "cute."

P.S. We all miss DeSoto and wish him good luck!

Recall

Sunday my mom and I headed down to San Rafael. We arrived at the campus around 1:30. We checked in and the lady took us back to kennels. Spike was eventually next to DeSoto. DeSoto was very calm and laid down just looking at all the barking dogs. I stayed about 15-20 minutes in there with him than left. I think the hardest part was walking away. When I opened the door to leave, he was right by my side so I had to push him back. It was very hard to see him look at me like "where are you going you always take me." I know he`ll do great!

Goodbye DeSoto

Writing this post just does not seem right. Tomorrow (somehow) I will have to say goodbye to DeSoto. Though I know if he is CC`d I will get to adopt him, which make tomorrow a little bit easier. Time really flied by. It seems like just yesturday I picked up my adorable little DeSoto, and now it is time to compplete his dream.

I know DeSoto will do his very best. I will be happy to see him in harness or at my house playing ball. I just want him to be happy.

Well today was DeSoto`s last outing as a puppy in training. Our club met up at the train station and rode the train. DeSoto was great with the rickety noises, steam engine, and all the other surroundings. Focus was there too, and slept the entire ride. I was very happy with my boys.

Probably the last picture I will ever get of both of them as puppies in training.
Focus will not be going with me, he is at my leaders house because I will be slending the day in the city and spending the night, which is to much for a 12 week old puppy. I miss him already but can`t wait to see him on Monday!

So here is to my Soto who will de great in training. Focus and I will miss you dearly.

Hello & Goodbye

Tonight`s meeting was the one I was dreading all along. Why you may ask? Well we had to say hello to the puppies which was great, but than came the goodbye`s. Becky, Kelsey Emily, and I reading the Hello Poem to (L-R) Amato, Burgess, and Focus.
Than after that came the worst having to say the goodbye poem. I was happy to have Emily and Kelsey right by my side as it pry would have been worse if it was just me. I think I did quite well as far as crying a little bit, but not bad.
We received flowers from our leaders as well as the certificate and pin.
Our Leader Mr. Wish saying goodbye.
These last two pictures were from Focus`s first meeting.
L-R Burgess, Amato, & Focus
Our entire club, except Morgana. Top Row: Burgess, Amato, & Focus Bottom Row: Suede, Spike, Orwell, DeSoto, & Fantom. Overall the meeting was very good. I will post more on the actual goodbye.

Pictures!

As most of you are probably anxious for more puppy pictures, I decided to do just a post of pictures of mostly Focus and some of DeSoto.

My handsome boy DeSoto

Sleeping under the bed
Getting a bath because he had an accident and had pee all over him

Focus went to his first puppy meeting and did great! As you can tell I got his puppy jacket, and I forgot how small and cute they are! Focus has been to a few places but not much because he has not had all his shots. He is a great little walker, unlike DeSoto who did not want to walk until he was 6 months, so I am happy about that.

Fun Day and Introducing....

Fun Day was awesome!! My friend and her puppy Fantom rode with us there, so it was an easy trip there. The way back, wow! The way back we had 6 dogs in the car and 5 people! Kelsey, Emily, Taylor, my mom , and my self drove 4 houres with 6 dogs. The dogs were great the way home the all slept including both the puppies!! This was my first San Rafael Fun Day, and I loved it! Though it was hot, there was lots of stuff to buy, lots of activities you could attend, and SO much more. I got the joy of meeting two of DeSoto`s littermates, Diva and Diamond. That was really neat to exchange information and contact info. But the end of the day was of course my favorite! Why you might ask? Well I got to meet someone very special!
DeSoto hanging out waiting for our name to be called so we could meet our little guy.
DeSoto at the hotel room.
Fantom hanging out. Isn`t his hat the cutest thing?
The littermates. Right to left, DeSoto, Diva, and Diamond.

DeSoto and Diva played a little bit, Diamond wanted nothing to do with the playing.

Introducing you to my boy Focus!!
When the called my name on stage, I was so excited to hear the name, so when he said I will be receiving Focus I just loved the name! Focus was born on May 18 and is about 10 weeks old. He is small not the moose that Burgess is. The first night was not so enjoyable as Focus thought is was fun to bark in t he crate. So finally I gave up and I put him on a tie down by my bed and he fell asleep and 12 and woke up at 7. I was very happy nothing was chewed on that was not supposed to be. On the ride home he was great just slept! Though he did not go potty since we got to Carson City. Focus is a high energy dog and is nothing like DeSoto as a puppy! DeSoto was always calm and just hung out, Focus is the complete opposite! Besides barking/whining on the tie down or in the crate he is a pretty good little guy. He is still learning how to go potty on a leash and much more. So I will try to post soon about the meeting on Monday!
