Evaluations

As a puppy raiser, when your CFR comes to town it's always stressful and you are trying to prepare your dog so he/she will be at their best behavior and impress your CFR.

Today we had our weekly meeting, but this meeting was one where Celeste (our CFR) came to do evaluations on all our puppies. Our club was sitting at a conference table and Celeste was going around to each puppy reviewing all her notes from last time. All the pups did really well, and she is not really worries about any of them. When she got to Ryder, she looked at her notes and said, "Ryder is perfect." When I heard that I was so relieved and happy, cause truly Ryder is pretty perfect and bomb proof, his only issue is he is VERY MUCH attached to me, and will stress out when I leave the house and I leave him home with family members. Other than that Ryder is an awesome dog, I can take him anywhere (that he is aloud to go of course) and not worry that he will have an accident, be misbehaved, cause trouble, or be immature, he truly is a puppy raiser's dream puppy. So basically that's all Celeste said about Ryder, she did ask if I have any issues or unusual problems with him, but of course I said no.

So after hearing her say he is perfect (minus a few flaws, no dog is perfect, haha) I of course thought "oh no she is going to recall him soon." Ryder is ready to go back anytime, but I am not ready to let him go anytime soon. She said she is not recalling dogs until they are 15-17 months old these days. So overall I could not be happier with how evaluations went, and knowing that I should have Ryder till November probably.

Happy 1st Birthday Ryder!

On Friday (June 18th) Ryder turned 1 year old!!! It is so hard to believe that my boy is one, that just means recall is just around the corner. I could not be happier with what he has accomplished in a year.
  • Helped me through me Freshman Year of High School
  • Welcomed Focus back as a CC Dog
  • Mastered all of his commands
  • Became a well mannered & mature dog
  • Has always listened to me and hardly ever needs a correction
  • He is a great dog all around who will do great things in life

Our club had a meeting at the train station on Saturday. So this is me and Ryder getting off the train.

P.S. I am very sorry about the lacking of posting I have been doing, I have been super busy. Now that summer is here I will be blogging more ofteb.

P.S.S. We have our CFR coming next Monday, so wish Ryder good luck on his evals (tho I am sure he will pass with flying colors, Celeste LOVED him last time.) Hopefully I will get some golden news as well. :)

Focus Visits!

This past week I have had the pleasure to puppy-sit Focus. I really enjoyed having him, he really has matured and become a well mannered guy. He is no longer the high energy dog I raised.

We really had no complaints about him, other than his shedding, he sheds SOO much! He has AWESOME house manners, we were able to leave him home for 3-4 hours alone in the house and he would be fine. I love seeing him, but seeing him happily go home and not turn his head when I leave, lets me know that he loves his home and is well taken care of.

I know Ryder is not allowed on the bed, but while I was downstairs making cookies I let them both have freedom, and I came upstairs to find them both laying on the bed. After I took the phone I made Ryder get off.
