Fun Day and Introducing....

Fun Day was awesome!! My friend and her puppy Fantom rode with us there, so it was an easy trip there. The way back,wow! The way back we had 6 dogs in the car and 5 people! Kelsey, Emily, Taylor, my mom , and my self drove 4 houres with 6 dogs. The dogs were great the way home the all slept including both the puppies!! This was my first San Rafael Fun Day, and I loved it! Though it was hot, there was lots of stuff to buy, lots of activities you could attend, and SO much more. I got the joy of meeting two of DeSoto`s littermates, Diva and Diamond. That was really neat to exchange information and contact info. But the end of the day was of course my favorite! Why you might ask? Well I got to meet someone very special!

Introducing you to my boy Focus!!

When the called my name on stage, I was so excited to hear the name, so when he said I will be receiving Focus I just loved the name! Focus was born on May 18 and is about 10 weeks old. He is small not the moose that Burgess is. The first night was not so enjoyable as Focus thought is was fun to bark in t he crate. So finally I gave up and I put him on a tie down by my bed and he fell asleep and 12 and woke up at 7. I was very happy nothing was chewed on that was not supposed to be. On the ride home he was great just slept! Though he did not go potty since we got to Carson City. Focus is a high energy dog and is nothing like DeSoto as a puppy! DeSoto was always calm and just hung out, Focus is the complete opposite! Besides barking/whining on the tie down or in the crate he is a pretty good little guy. He is still learning how to go potty on a leash and much more. So I will try to post soon about the meeting on Monday!

More Info!!

Well with the help of Emily and Kelsey I finally knew that I am getting an Bosworth/Vonnie puppy. Born May 18, 2008. 3 males and 4 females. Born a year and a day after Suede and Spike! So I got a hold of some pictures of the litter.

The News!!

Well after waiting for what seems like forever, I finally got the e-mail saying what letter I will be receiving!! It turns out I will be getting an "F" MYL!! I got exactly what I wanted a MYL. I am very excited with only 5 days left I don`t know if I can make it. I will let Emily and Kelsey tell you there letter as I am sure they would not want me to do so. So I am sure there will be an update soon on DeSoto but if not check back on Sunday for puppy news! So everyone start thinking of some F names!

The E-mail

Katlynn:
Celeste does need another dog for the August recall and I mentioned you would be okay if Desoto went back in Aug. since you were going to be getting a new puppy. She said that would be fine. I hope this is still okay with you. I know this is sudden but I'm hopeful this will be okay for Desoto.

Our Leader

Our Leader and I have discussed this before, but they said most likely that it would not happen. I am okey with it just because I know he is ready and will do great! I will be pretty easy I am hoping because I will have puppy #2 two weeks before DeSoto is recalled. DeSoto has been doing great and I don`t have anything really bad to say about him. So I guess I should give a little update.

Since Wednesday night DeSoto had been at my leaders house because I was out of town. Thursday my family and I drove down to California to see a concert and see family. I wish I would have taken DeSoto because the concert was outside and it would have been fine for him and we went to a theme park and lots of shopping. It all would have been a great experience for him! For the next few weeks I will just be working on perfecting his commands etc.. I am looking forward to Fun Day and meeting all DeSoto`s siblings and parents and of course meeting my new little one!

1 Years Old!

DeSoto is officially a year old! Well actually, yesterday was his Birthday, but since I was camping I could not post. DeSoto was great at camping and enjoyed swimming in Lake Tahoe every day a few times. He is not that big of a swimmer he likes to go out, but only until where he can`t touch anymore. He is kind of hard to deal with on the beach because he thinks eating mouth fulls of sand is great fun. We were up at Nevada Beach campground for 3 nights. Thursday was his Birthday so I made him pupcakes before I left. He loved them! So here are some pictures of his Birthday and The Lake. DeSoto waiting patiently for his pupcake.

One More Month To Go

Only one more month to go, until I am presented with my puppy! I am very excited and can`t wait to do this process again. It is possible that Emily, Kesley, and I will get littermates, so I am kinda excited for that. Anyhow I will not know the letter of the pup till like mid July. On another note it seems like DeSoto will not be recalled until the earliest September. That has not been finalized yet, but the e-mail I got from my leader made it sound reassuring that he`ll be on the list for September/October recall. I will keep you updated on the puppy news!

Puppy Swap

Today Kesley and I traded puppies for the week. So that means I will have Spike!! Spike is a very well mannered dog. I am really pleased with his leash manners as there is no need for a halti, if he does get side tracked a correction does the job! As I soon found out, Spike is not a picture boy! Most pictures, I would go to snap the picture he would turn his head. But I did get some decent ones.

Do you think Spike needs any MORE toys?!?! He decided it would be fun to get most of the toys out of the basket and play with them.

Not So Sure

Well first off, DeSoto`s evaluation went very well. Celeste did say that he is still a puppy and has some maturing to do before going back. She did mention that his obedience is amazing, which I was happy to hear! This was a big thing for me because DeSoto has never really liked his nails trimmed and that has been an issue with him for the longest time, now though he is fine. Celeste was able to trim some of his nails with no hassle. Yeah DeSoto!! That was a great thing to hear! Overall he did great.

Over the past few weeks my friends and I including DeSoto went camping up at Nevada Beach. DeSoto was great, except he loved to eat sand. He did not eat that much but enough to drive me insane. This past weekend I went camping and Walker River Resort and DeSoto went with my friend Amber who was also a puppy raiser. She said he was really good, but did has an accident in Dillard`s. During the week we do not do anything too exciting. We have are usual Monday night meetings and we usual go to a few stores during the week. Wednesday some of our friends and I headed up to Wild Island (a water park) and we did not want to take DeSoto because it was going to be way to hot. So instead I made arrangements with Becky and long time puppy raiser in our club to take him for the day. He got an alright report. She said when she was in a meeting, he was over against the wall being good until one of her workers said "um I think your dog is eating the wall". He has only chewed the wall once when he was only 8 weeks old so that really surprised me. She also said that when someone knocked on her door he barked once or twice, which I knew about because he does that at home when someone knocks on my door or the front door. But other than those two things, she said he was great.

Also I have some good and bad news. The good news being I will be getting puppy #2 on August 2nd at the San Rafael Fun Day. The reason for getting it early is my mom and leader both agreed that it would be nice to have a few weeks to work with it before school starts. It is also a possibility that Emily or Kelsey or all of us will get littermates. I would really like a yellow male, but would also take a black male if that is all they had. So I put in my application today so as soon as I know the letter I will post! And the bad news being that DeSoto MAY be recalled on the August 16th recall list. My leader and I were talking about if he would be ready, I think he will, but I also think that a few more moths here would be good to. I am hoping that he goes back on the September or October recall. But I guess if it turns out that he goes back on August 16th that would be okay. One way or another he has to go, weather it`s August or October I will never be ready. So here are some pictures of his as a puppy until now.

The New Babies

On Monday we welcomed two new baby puppies into our Carosn City Club. Fantom who is a heavy little guy and he is being raised by Taylor as her 2nd dog and also she raised Ryder. Morgana is a sweet little girl. She is being raised by the McDowells, long time puppy raisers. This is a cute picture of Suede kissing Morgana. Maybe she`ll be a breeder.
