Adventures

On Wednesday we went up to the Summit Sierra and went shopping! It was really fun! Desoto did very good. First we went to Journeys to return some shoes, Hollister, Abercrombie, American Eagle, and Claires. I was really happy with him because walking is not his best yet but he walked the whole time. Yea!!!! After all that shoppong my Grandma called and said do we want to have lunch with then at BJ`s we said sure! We had a 20 minutte wait to get our table so we went outside and sat on the benches, and this lady comes out of the restaurant and starts petting him. I said please don`t pet him he a guide dog in training, she just looked at me and my mom and left. DeSoto was so tired he slept the whole time we were at lunch. which was good because he is a garbage mouth and would have ate everything! Thursday was school again what a bummer. Well he went to school with me went to most of my classes did really good and what bugs me the most is that when i`m carrying him in the hall ( because he does not walk far) people just start touching him and a tell them to please don`t pet him and they look at me and walkk away it gets SO annoying!! Then on Friday we went to school and Mr. Wish had him my 4 morning classes and he said that he was really bad, but when I got him he just slept! Ha Ha!! Well more info later!!

Tuesday

Today I took DeSoto to 3 of my classes he did really good for a 10 wk old puppy! Of course he was eating things. It took about 15 min. for him to settle in. Mr. Wish was impressed! Well more tommorow about where we went!

Empire School

DeSoto did great! Yea!!! It was really fun we talked to the little first and second graders about how to behave aroud a working dog. Half the stuff we said I don`t think they understood. Desoto was a pest the first class we talked to, then the second class we talked to he was asleep mostly. It got annoying after we were done taliking they came over to pet the dogs and of course they all went for the puppy who wouldn`t! After Desoto thought it would be fun to bite there hand I told them to go pet the other dog please. Here is a funny thing I took Desoto out to the grass to go to the bathroom and first the kid walks by me into the classroom then comes out and tells me my dog can`t pee or poop there! I told the kid he is a guide dog and that i`ll clean up his mess then the kid said but my teacher said he can`t. So I let Desoto do his pee then I brought him back inside. The kid didn`t realize it was a guide dog even though I showed the kid his vest. Another funny thing was that in the second class we talked to Pantera was sleeping and all the sudden Amber and me look down and there is a pee spot. Amber was not happy. Mr. Wish really didn`t make a big deal about it because he was talking to the calss. Well more later!!

DeSoto`s Litter Mates

There was 5 puppies in his litters including him. Three Females and two males. All the pups in his litter were all black except Diva! Just in my opinion I think his sisters names are cool names! LOL!!

Monday

Monday was a big day for Mr. DeSoto. He went to school for the first time and did great! Well i think he did Mr. Wish had him for the day uder his desk. Tomorrow and Wednesday he`ll be ewith my mom at work and at home. He has had a great first couple days so far! The meeting at the fire station was fun I got to say the hello to my puppy poem that was fun but I was kinda shy because I`m not the one who likes to talk in front of a group. It was funny to see Pantera because I though he was little but now he looks so big compared to DeSoto. On Thursday he`ll come with me to school. On Friday Mr. Wish invited me and DeSoto to go to Empire with him to talk to the kids about how to behave around a working Guide Dog. One of the teacher aids at Empire School is blind and is down at Guide Dogs right now training for a guide dog and will be comming back on Mon. with her dog so that`s really cool! So more on that later!

Exciting Weekend

This weekend we went down to San Fafeal to pick up my Guide Dog Puppy DeSoto. He is a 9 wks old and is a black lab male wih lots of energy! And of course he`s cute!
